Services

Three ways I turn data into decisions.

Advice, hands-on building, or both. I work across the whole chain — from the question management needs answered to the data, the model and the tool that answers it.

01

Business controlling & insight

Reporting, KPIs and analysis that show what is driving the result — not just what it was. Hands-on, as an extension of your finance team.

  • Management reporting and KPIs
  • Profitability by project, customer and product
  • Budgets, forecasts and scenarios
  • Decision support for management and CFOs
02

AI for analysis

Use AI where it makes analysis faster and sharper: finding drivers, explaining deviations, drafting commentary and answering questions from your own data — with a person accountable for the conclusions.

  • Variance and driver analysis
  • Drafted management commentary
  • Ask-your-data assistants
  • Forecast and scenario support
03

Data foundation & tools

One set of numbers everyone trusts. Data models, integrations and dashboards across your ERP, CRM and project systems — and internal tools where standard systems fall short.

  • Data models and integrations
  • Power BI and Qlik dashboards
  • Internal web apps and portals
  • Automated reporting

AI for analysis

AI prepares.
People decide.

AI is shifting finance from producing reports to explaining them. The value isn’t in a chatbot — it’s in faster, sharper analysis: finding the drivers, testing scenarios, drafting the story behind the numbers.

I help you find where that pays off, build it on data you can trust, and keep a person accountable for the conclusions.

Typical starting points

  • 01 · Variance analysis

Deviations against budget and last year found and explained — drivers, not just differences.

  • 02 · Commentary

First-draft management commentary on the numbers, ready for you to sharpen.

  • 03 · Ask your data

Plain-language questions answered from your own financial and operational data.

  • 04 · Forecasting

Forecasts and scenarios updated faster, with every assumption visible.

  • 05 · Profitability

Margin by project, customer and product — and the patterns behind it.

  • 06 · Early signals

Shifts in sales, cost and capacity flagged before they reach the result.

Human in the loop

AI suggests. A person owns the conclusion.

Traceable

Every figure can be followed back to its source.

Your data, your rules

Built with the providers and data boundaries you approve.

Built on what you have

No large system replacement project required.

Selected work

From idea to everyday use.

Projects from independent work and earlier roles. The common thread: understand the business question, then build the model and the tool that answers it.

How we work together

Start small.
Build on what works.

No large setup project, and no long report before anything happens. We start with one concrete question and answer it properly.

  1. A conversation

Bring one concrete question — a decision you lack numbers for, a report nobody trusts, or a forecast that takes weeks. We look at it together for 30 minutes.

  2. A focused first project

We pick one problem and agree a clear scope. You get a working model or tool — not a slide deck about one.

  3. Build on what works

Extend it, scale it, or hand it over to your team. I can stay on for ongoing support — or step back.

Ways to engage
  • Focused assignments
  • Consulting days
  • Ongoing support
I can advise, build hands-on, or work alongside your team.

About

Hi, I’m Joachim.

I work where finance meets technology — so the analysis and the tool that delivers it are built by the same hands.

My work centres on business controlling and finance advisory: management reporting, budgets and forecasts, profitability and supplier analysis — at BDO, at Aider, at Coop — first as Business Controller, now building Power BI reporting — and with my own clients since 2020.

I also build. I added a degree in informatics to my business and finance degrees, led a financial data warehouse project at BDO, headed Digitalisation & Innovation at Aider, and today work as a full-stack developer on internal tools.

AI has changed how I explore ideas, analyse data and build software. Now I bring that way of working to the leaders and finance teams I work with.
